The Digitalization & Innovation Committee had their first meeting for the year, and we would like to thank Ms Evelyn Stier, Co-Chairperson of the Committee for hosting the meeting at the Siemens Centre.

Guests from Phoenix Contact GmbH & Co. KG, Mr Alexander Kehler and Mr Stephan Frigge, spoke to members about their respective company’s vision of an all-electric society and to achieve zero carbon emissions by 2050. The use of fossil fuel is targeted to be eliminated as much as possible by 2045 and instead, intensify the usage of clean and renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, hydrogen, and so on. Moreover, digitalization and innovation are the enablers of an all-electric society because it could allow communication between different sectors of society, resulting in energy efficient usage. This can only occur if businesses come forward and collaborate with one another.
